What is Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma like?

If you are wondering what it is like to participate in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) there is a great  podcast by a journalist who suffered a sexaul assalt as a teenager. She describes the experience of CPT, session by session. Although her experience is of a single trauma the research has shown that CPT is effective with those that have had multiple traumas, childhood sexaual assault, physical assault, combat experience and those who are refugees. At the Centre for Clinical Psychology we have successfully used CPT with women following traumatic birth.

What if someone told you about a type of therapy that could help you work through unhealed trauma in just ten sessions? Some people knock through it in two weeks. Jaime Lowe tried the therapy—and recorded it.
