Isabella Bolton

Bella is a registered Psychologist, undertaking the clinical registrar program. She completed her undergraduate and honour degrees at Swinburne University of Technology, and her master degree at ACU, Melbourne.

Bella has clinical experience in several settings, including community mental health, hospital outpatient clinics, and assessment clinics. She has worked with a range of presentations in adolescents and adults, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, depression, trauma, grief, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, adjustment problems, and chronic pain.

In all her work, she creates an empathetic, non-judgemental, and safe space for clients to openly describe their past and present struggles. She has a strong emphasis on mindful self-compassion principles, encouraging her clients to approach their own struggles with kindness and understanding.

Bella collaboratively uses evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing. She is a registered provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), which is a structured and evidence-based intervention to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in clients who have experienced one trauma or many. She knows the importance of keeping up-to-date with relevant research, and is always open to feedback and new learnings.

Bella enjoys fostering self-compassion and self-efficacy in her clients. Bella knows that it can be difficult to be vulnerable in therapy, and she helps clients move towards their goals, with warmth, validation, and care.
