Telehealth Appointments

Telehealth Psychologists and Counselling

The Centre for Clinical Psychology offers online – telehealth – psychology sessions to people from all around Australia. This means that people looking for professional mental health support and treatment can access Medicare-rebated sessions from their own home.

What equipment do I need?

Once you have booked an appointment, we will send you a link to a secure online video platform (Healthdirect), as well as suggestions to help you optimise your set up to get the best experience. You simply need a reliable internet connection, a smart device with a camera, a phone and a private space to conduct the session.

Are online sessions as effective as in-person sessions?

Outcome research suggests that online therapy can be just as effective as therapy conducted in-person. Some people also prefer to meet their therapist in person for the first few sessions, then transition to telehealth. We recommend you speak to your therapist about this option.

Here at the Centre for Clinical Psychology we provide the same style of therapy whether you access it online or in-person. With a large team of psychologists, we’re here to help people struggling with anxiety, depression or trauma. Our clinical psychologists are skilled and ready to help you.

Can you access Medicare Rebates for Psychologists Online

Yes. Australians are entitled to claim a Medicare rebate for up to ten sessions per calendar year with a psychologist. These sessions can be conducted via telehealth or in-person.

Speak to your GP about a referral and then contact our administration team to book an appointment.
