Funding for Therapy

Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)

  • You require a referral from your GP to access clinical psychology treatment services
  • The total number of services provided depends on the specifics of your claim
  • No gap fee is charged for these services

Employer Assistance Programs (EAP)

  • You will need to discuss with your employer to ascertain if you are eligible for EAP services for personal or work related issues
  • Up to five sessions are typically funded by employers

Medicare – Better Access to Mental Health Care

  • You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $131.65  per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year for psychological services with a clinical psychologist.
  • You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $89.65  per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year for psychological services with a clinical psychology registrar.
  • All sessions at CCP will incur a gap fee, we do not offer bulk billing
  • Please speak to your GP regarding obtaining a referral with a mental health care plan
  • This is a very common type of referral to our practice

Private Fees / Self-Funded

  • You may attend the Centre for Clinical Psychology as a private patient which means that you do not require a referral

Private Health Fund Insurance

  • You will most likely need Extras cover on your Insurance Policy in order to claim rebates for individual, couple or group, clinical/general psychology services.  The amount reimbursed will vary as this depends upon your Private Health Fund and your level of cover

Transport Accident Commission (TAC)

  • A referral from your GP is required to access Psychology services to help treat transport or vehicle-related injuries or illnesses
  • Individual, Family or Group Counselling services can be provided
  • The total number of services provided will depend on the specifics of your claim

Victims of Crime (VOC)

  • The Victims of Crime Tribunal (VOCAT) can award the costs of psychological treatment as compensation to victims of crime, following a psychological assessment and submission of a report
  • The total number of services provided will depend on the specifics of your claim

Work Safe (Workers Compensation)

  • You will need a referral from your GP to access Psychology services for work-related injuries or illnesses
  • Individual, Family or Group Counselling services can be provided
  • The total number of services provided will depend on the specifics of your claim
