Ambreen Mirza

Ambreen Mirza holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Swinburne University, as well as a Master’s degree in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from the Anna Freud Centre/ UCL in the UK. She brings a strong commitment to trauma-informed care, with diverse experience in Australia and overseas.

Her clinical work spans individual therapy for clients affected by childhood trauma, sexual abuse, refugee and migration trauma, family violence, peri-natal or post-partum difficulties, and mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Ambreen has developed her clinical skills across diverse settings, including hospital-based community mental health programs, community-based specialist clinics, non-profit organisations and university psychology clinics.

She has conducted research and advocacy on trauma-informed mental health access for under-served communities and has trained clinicians in trauma-focused CBT.

Ambreen is passionate about helping clients gain insight, develop resilience, and navigate emotional challenges with confidence. She takes an individualised and integrative approach, blending structured, goal-oriented therapy with deeper explorations of emotional and relational patterns, drawing mainly from Psychodynamic Therapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT & CBT-E) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT-C).

With a warm, empathetic, and collaborative approach, Ambreen provides a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their concerns and work towards meaningful change.

Ambreen is fluent in English and Urdu.
