Emily is a clinical psychologist with an interest in women’s health issues and trauma. Emily began her career in the design industry where she worked for a number of years. Over time, Emily became interested in creative art therapy techniques and began to wonder about how to support individuals to change. These questions ultimately lead Emily to study clinical psychology.
During her studies, Emily completed an internship at the Royal Women’s Hospital where she supported women during and after pregnancy who were experiencing difficulty with adjustment and mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression. Emily has also supported women experiencing challenges during menopause, and following cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In addition to her role with the Centre for Clinical Psychology, Emily also works at the Werribee Mercy Mother Baby Unit. Emily previously worked at headspace with adolescents, young people and their families. She is skilled in working with a variety of complex presentations, including trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias and life transition concerns.
Emily brings a compassionate and strengths-based approach to all of her work, drawing on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and creative arts therapy techniques. When working with people who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Emily uses Cognitive Processing Therapy.
Emily has particular interests in working with developmental trauma, relational and attachment difficulties.
Emily is only available via telehealth.

Emily is currently undertaking specialist training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), and would like to hear from people interested in this form of therapy. CAT pays special attention to the relationships we have, both with others and ourselves. CAT is particularly suited to people who would like to work on unhelpful relationship patterns, or whose ‘self-talk’ is harsh, punitive, filled with doubt, or that contributes to anxiety, depression, or other life difficulties. If you are interested in CAT, please mention this when booking your first appointment.
