Tamara has a strong interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. She has worked in critical incident management and with members of the Defence Force in private practice. She has experience working with early life trauma and sexual assault. Tamara is trained in evidence-based trauma focused therapies, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure.
Tamara has been a Clinical Psychologist for over ten years. She has experience working with clients across the lifespan and in a variety of settings, including public mental health services, educational institutions, public hospitals, corporate organisations and in private practice.
Tamara also has extensive experience working with individuals who are managing life adjustments and the associated emotional challenges that come with this, such as stress, depression, anxiety, anger and grief. Tamara also supports women who have experienced traumatic birth.
Tamara believes in a collaborative approach to therapy that involves sharing ideas and strategies with clients that bring about change. She adopts evidence based therapies including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); and Schema Therapy.
